Creating a Healing Journaling Practice with Cannabis

A regular journaling practice can be an excellent addition to your self-care routine. Incorporate a little Cannabis and you may find it uplifts the experience in such a way that you’re able to do some real healing work! This is because Cannabis can help you to connect with your higher self and super charge your intuitive abilities.

Journaling and cannabis

Before every session, I always like to take a moment to ground my energy by doing some breath work. At this time you can ask that your space be protected. It is also incredibly important to set an intention beforehand. This creates an expectation for the experience and can potentially prevent feelings of overwhelm. You can speak your intention out loud or quietly to yourself. An example of this might be:

“Cannabis, I ask that you will be my plant ally and align me with information that supports the Highest Good. Guide me in my journaling practice tonight. Allow the information that flows from my pen to be truthful and healing.”

When you are ready to begin journaling, do so in a quite space. You may find yourself quickly filling up pages in your journal with messages from your higher self and new ideas! If you’ve never done this before it can be a really beautiful experience. Time will definitely fly by so be sure to set a timer if you have something you can’t miss.

Journaling not only lets us process our thoughts and feelings. It can also be a creative outlet. Many an idea has come from a night of fun with Cannabis but how many of these ideas are executed? This practice insures your ideas are recorded and accessible to you in the future!

You may find that you like to pair your intentions with certain varieties of Cannabis. For example, a Sativa might be your go-to if you’re looking for a creative journaling session. While an Indica could prove to be grounding and supportive if you are doing some shadow work. Hybrids are generally a good choice if you are new to Cannabis but just like everything else, what works for one may not work for another. Take your time on this journey. You’ll eventually find what works best for you! 

If journaling ever becomes overwhelming or you feel like speaking instead of writing, you can also create a recorded journal on your phone with your talk to text option. This is your time! You deserve to create the kind of experience that will best serve you.
