Caring For and Cleaning Your Crystal Pipe

Your crystal pipe is a beautiful smoking tool that brings the power and vibration of the stone to your smoking experience. But what should you do once that experience is a little... stale?

Cleaning your pipe is a simple task, but it can be frustrating if you've never done it before! When you smoke herb in your pipe, it leaves ash and residue behind. The best way I've found to remove this residue is by soaking your pipe in alcohol. You can use rubbing alcohol, isopropyl alcohol... in a pinch, even vodka will work! Pour some into your pipe and let it sit for a bit, to loosen up any sticky bits. I also soak the filter at the same time, so that I can get several uses out of it.

Once your pipe has had a chance to sit, scrub away the residue with a cotton swab, or a straw cleaner. I bought mine at the dollar store, but you can grab a set on Amazon!

Some crystals should not be cleansed with liquids, but don't worry! Most crystal pipes, including the ruby in zoisite pipe we included in the Yule box, are hard enough to withstand a good soaking. You shouldn't soak anything that registers lower than 5 on the Mohs scale. For more information, check out this article!

You can purchase additional filter screens at your local smoke shop, or if that's not an option, there are some available on Amazon.
