COVID-19 is changing our lives every day. As the sun’s power increases, so may our feelings of anxiousness and hopelessness as typically Beltane is a time to gather together and celebrate High Spring. We will be missing our nature rituals, elaborate May Day fire rites and jubilating with loved ones. This Beltane will feel odd, however in a time of uncertainty, turning to traditions and rituals will help heal the soul. Celebrations shouldn’t be cancelled, they will just need to be altered.
Beltane is about high energy and celebrating life with titillating revelry, but it is also the time, like Samhain, when the veil between worlds is at its thinnest. Take this time to strengthen your connection with the natural and spirit world. This can be done through divination, meditation, and earth-based activities such as planting and harvesting. I’d also be silly not to give a nod to the sexiest time of year. Take the day to pamper yourself in ways that celebrate your sensuality.
